Trail Run Success!

Finally...after a few issues with the blogger...we're back on track. The "Wicked Spooky Halloween Trail Run" was a whopping success. We had 34 competitors, but well over 50 had signed up. Many could not attend last-minute due to childcare problems, health, etc. Below are a few of the pumpkins racers dropped off the week before the race.
We, unfortunately, did not get many photos the night of the race, as we were quite busy with registration and scaring runners. But, the majority of the runners belong to the "Monster Trail Runners", and they have a blog, set up here
Doug and I carved a couple of our own, below....
The carnage.

The Best!

Major updates ! Beck has two teeth coming in, which we discovered yesterday. He had no symptoms to speak of, except two rough nights about two weeks ago, so we're not even sure we can chalk that up to teething. Bottom front row. Amazing.
Also, he has learned to wave goodbye (and hello, and goodbye, and hello, and goodbye....to everything and everyone), which is really exciting. At seven and a half months, he must be brilliant. If not brilliant, then at least the cutest thing in Maine.

Scary-as-&%$!-Trail-Run

Yes, Doug and I have really outdone ourselves now. We are organizing the most awesome Haunted Halloween Scary Creepy Trail Run ever. This one is only for the truly daring and adventurous. You must not have any pre-existing heart conditions, and not be afraid of getting dirty and getting scared. All that being said...hikers are welcome too :) We are putting together the final details now, but if you are interested, let us know and we'll send you a flyer. The course is just a tad under four miles long round trip on the extensive trail network behind our house, and there will be great prizes for a number of different categories, including raffles. Come join the fun!

The Big Dig/I Am A Bad Mother

What started out as a lovely morning at the orchard with other moms and tots, quickly turned into a drama-filled guilt=fest for Moi. Literally just seconds after this cute photo was taken...BAM. Beck's new nickname is "scarface". One minute he was sitting happily in the sunshine, thinking his mom is the bomb, then over he goes, face down in the dirt. I'm telling everyone some bigger kid came along and pushed him out of the chair.
A before Picture....
....And After.
I tried to make it up to him later in the day by take a hike. I think it worked.
