Melt My Heart

Beginning last week, Beck began telling me he loved me. To a non-parent, this may not seem like a big deal. But to those of us who have or have had children at some point, this simple phrase is one of those things that makes our parenting journey worthwhile. And not only did he say it once, he has said it, and genuinely meant it, every day since then. Oftentimes it's three or four times a day. Sometimes it comes with a hug, but always with a smile and and a soft sincerity in his voice. He always looks me in the eye, too, when he says it. I've told him it makes me sooo happy when he tells me that, and it does. Truly and honestly melt-my-heart happy. He is so utterly dear, so good, and so kind. At times, I am fairly certain that he is an angel inhabiting a little boy's body...

Recent

Well, here are some photos of Cora that I just haven't had time to post lately. I just can't seem to get enough of my own kids...is that weird? However, I am genuinely starting to panic about the sheer number of photos of them that I have now, and it's only been three years. If I were to lay them all out in a book, I am sure that at this point it would take way more than four of any digital book I can find (40 pages max is the most I've come across), and given my perfectionism about retouching each individual photo, several months to actually compile them. Fantastic...I really needed something else to stress about. Ideas?

The start of summer

Teething has conveniently arrived with the beginning of summer, which means homemade popsicles are all the rage around here lately. Though she has two already, the drama continues as if she'd never experienced a sharp object, such as a tooth, breaking through tender skin before...sheesh. I mean, am I supposed to feel bad for those tears in the picture? Just kidding.
