Green

Everything is so lush and green these days, and although some may disagree, I think this summer has been a beautiful one thus far. Besides a couple of really hot days, most have been in the 70's, and we have been able to spend many of them at the beach. On a very recent rainy day, the kids asked to go for a "rainy hike", which we hadn't done for a while...mostly because of the mosquitoes, and partly because of my health. Both of those things have improved immensely, so we headed off into the jungle that is our backyard and woods, dog and cat on our heels. The ferns are taller than the kids, and moss creeps over every available surface. And, of course, after we had explored every nook and cranny of the stream out back, the kids had their clothes off and were in the water. It was warm, despite the rain, and they were happy, as, well, naked kids in a stream on a summer day.
