Artsy fartsy.

Well, it had been a while since I had staged a photo shoot, so I thought it was about time. And, Doug and My bedroom has the best light for doing a moody, oh-my-goodness-they-are-growing-up-so-fast session. Cora is at a great age for taking photos...she still disappears into her mind often, which means a kind of dreamy, far-off look on her face. Great stuff. Beck, on the other hand, is at the age where he gives me exactly what I ask for, which can look really contrived, or he gets goofy and silly...two extremes. He does not have those far-away moments very often now, though every once in a while I can catch him.

Oh...my babies are growing up.

There are so many of these, that when I finally get around to downloading them, it's too much work to go back and put them in the properly timed posts. So...the following are from a visit to Grandma Judy's house before Thanksgiving, car ride, Thanksgiving, Cora wearing mama's underwear (what?!?), Christmastime (with a black eye), Beck testing out his new snowboard. Whew. That's a lot of memories in a short amount of time!

Oh Christmas Tree!

We typically cut ours within days of Thanksgiving, and this year was no exception. We scoped out the woods behind our house first, but to no avail. Both Doug and I grew up with big, full trees in our living rooms, and it's hard to scale down to a Charlie Brown-sized fir. So, after traipsing around for an hour or so, we headed off to a local tree farm.
